Jumbo Cruiser
Jumbocruiser runs premium tour buses, the nightliners that carry bands and crews across the UK and Europe. The booking engine behind that business was written in C++ in 2006: 30,000 lines of CGI programs, talking straight to MySQL, rendering pages through a homegrown template syntax. It still works. It also can't be safely changed by anyone alive, and nobody wants to.
Tecaudex was brought in to modernize it. Rather than a risky big-bang rewrite, we built a new NestJS and React platform that shares the same database as the legacy system, so quotes, jobs, drivers, and invoices stay in sync while staff move over to the new tools at their own pace. The hard parts were not the screens. They were the pricing spreadsheets nobody had documented, the EU driver-hours rules, and the live coach routing that has to account for an 18-tonne vehicle towing a trailer.

About the Client
Jumbocruiser is a UK operator of premium band buses and nightliners, the sleeper coaches that move artists and touring crews around the UK and Europe. The company has more than 25 years on the road, runs one of the newest fleets in the sector (averaging under eight years old, on MAN Euro 6 chassis), and fits each coach out with bunks, internet, and a galley. For North American tours it partners with Hemphill Brothers, and it has recently added luxury motorhomes to the hire fleet.
Behind the polished service sat a booking system from 2006, built by a single developer and largely undocumented. It still handled real money and real bookings every day, which is exactly what made it dangerous to touch. The client needed the business logic preserved exactly, the lights kept on, and a path to a system their team could actually maintain and extend. That mix, high stakes and zero appetite for downtime, shaped every decision on the project.
