The desktop system was powerful but tied to a desk, and warehouse teams needed the same control while moving around the floor. We turned the heavy parts of the job, like inbound and outbound orders, batch recycling, and inventory tracking, into a fast scanning workflow that keeps the chain of custody intact and keeps operators moving.

About the Client
RazorERP is a cloud ERP platform built for the e-waste recycling, IT asset disposition, broker, and IT reseller industry. It tracks chain of custody from the moment a device reaches end of life through to its resale, which keeps operators R2 compliant at every step.
The mobile project set out to take RazorERP off the desk and onto the warehouse floor. Operators, drivers, and on-site teams needed a fast, scan-first tool for the work they do all day: receiving inbound orders, scanning and moving inventory between bin locations, running recycling batches, capturing weights and photos, and printing labels.
Challenges
Putting a full ERP onto a phone surfaced some real problems to work through.
- The desktop workflows were dense, and they had to feel fast on mobile rather than cramped.
- Scanning needs to be the main way people interact, since operators often have their hands full and are on the move.
- Inventory datasets are large, so search, filtering, and aggregation had to stay responsive.
- Physical hardware, namely warehouse scales and label printers, had to connect reliably.
- Warehouses are not always well connected, so the app had to keep working through dead spots.
- Recycling batches are complicated, and the mass balance of inputs and outputs had to stay accurate on the device.
- Several user roles share the app across orders, batches, jobs, and on-site services.
The hard part was not drawing screens. It was compressing an entire ERP into something a person can run one-handed in a loud, fast-moving warehouse.
