Trapline IQ
Trapline IQ is a bilingual (French/English) native iOS and Android app for licensed fur trappers in Quebec that works fully offline for a week at a time in the field. It digitizes the entire season placing and checking traps, logging captures, GPS tracks, the fur shed, equipment and the journal and generates the official ministry (MELCCFP) reports automatically. Tecaudex is rebuilding it from a network-dependent React/Convex web app into a true offline-first native product with a custom sync engine, offline Quebec mapping, and Canadian (Law 25) data hosting.

About the Client
Fauna IQ Innovations Inc. is a Canadian software company serving Quebec's regulated fur-trapping sector, with a product built on thirty years of real field experience and a hand-picked beta group of trappers.
The goal was to take a working but network-dependent web prototype and rebuild it as native offline-first apps that keep working in the field with no signal, map Quebec offline, host all data in Canada under Law 25, and carry the full Free, Pro and Commercial feature set — ready for the October season.
Challenges
- App needs a connection to show anything
- Browser maps can't cover week-long offline trips
- Web interface doesn't carry to native apps
- Data hosted outside Canada conflicts with Law 25
- Paper logbooks re-keyed by hand at the ministry
These limits meant the app couldn't be used where trappers actually work, and compliance reporting stayed slow and manual.
A durable offline-first sync engine (encrypted SQLite + write-queue) that survives a week offline, app closure and a dead battery, then reconciles cleanly on reconnection — with regulatory calculations tested to match the existing system exactly.
